ARA in corn

In central Ukraine, STOV "Druzhba" is applying Ecorobotix’s AI-powered ARA sprayer in its seed corn production plots, a crop where data on Ultra-High Precision (UHP) spraying is still emerging. The farm has significantly reduced input use while safeguarding sensitive breeding areas. The sprayer’s UHP weed targeting is particularly valuable in seed fields, where varied planting schedules and growth stages make traditional weed control more challenging.

In 2024, the team tested the sprayer on 300 hectares of soy and corn, achieving 40–90% savings on herbicides and fertilizers, depending on weed pressure and crop type. They also recorded a 1–3% yield increase in corn, equivalent to 140–420 kg/ha. With such promising results, the team is optimistic about the future of using the ARA precision sprayer across seed corn and beyond. ARA’s technology has already proven its effectiveness in increasing yields and reducing input costs in a wide range of crops, including onions, carrots, lettuce, and more, showing the strong future for ultra-high precision agriculture worldwide.

While we are still waiting for the first autonomous tractor to appear on the market, robotisation for treatments is becoming more widespread. We take a look at the latest developments at Agrama, which opens today in Berne.

Terre & Nature

The Swiss weekly magazine Terre & Nature reports on the adoption of robotics and autonomous vehicles in Switzerland. It uses AVO and ARA as an example.

Spot-spraying, a method now being explored by all the big names in agricultural mechanics, from Berthoud to John Deere, is coming to the fields, but with a tractor and driver. It's the ideal compromise," says Nicolas Pavillard, a member of the Le Grillon farming community, which farms 230 hectares in Orges (VD), and an agricultural entrepreneur who acquired an SCBA this spring. Its use corresponds more to my working habits than delegating everything to the machine: we continue to treat ourselves, and with an interesting work rate.

Technical solutions for vegetable production

Vegetable Growing Field Day at Queckbrunnerhof

The Palatinate Vegetable Growing Field Day at the Queckbrunnerhof near Schifferstadt at the beginning of September attracts vegetable growers and interested parties from all over Germany and neighbouring countries every year who want to find out about new products. At the machinery exhibition, technical solutions for mechanical weed control and plant protection as well as planting and sowing technology were discussed.

The story features our technology, that was showcased by our partner Agravis:

Selective spraying and reduction of phytosanitary products

At the Agravis stand, the new Ara spraying system from Ecorobotix was presented, which is designed to significantly reduce the amount of crop protection products used by identifying individual plants and applying them with pinpoint accuracy.
