Our Story
The Roots: Engineer, Steve Tanner met entrepreneur Aurélien Demaurex at an environmental gathering.
2011 The foundation: Together they founded Ecorobotix in October 2011
2014 – 2015 From Two to a Team: They hired their first employee and developed the first prototypes.
2016 – 2018 Autonomous AVO Model: Ecorobotix launched its autonomous machine, AVO.
2019 B-Corp Certification: The company achieved B-Corp Certification - a testament to our commitment to sustainability, ethics, and transparency.
2021 Introducing ARA: ARA, the Ultra-High precision field sprayer was launched.
2022 Company Growth & New Leadership: In memory of Simon Aspinall (bottom center), our CEO in 2022, who sadly passed away in 2023.
2023 Breaking Ground in the Americas: The company raised $52mio and expanded to the US, Canada and South America.
2024 Our New Captain: Dominique Mégret became the new CEO of Ecorobotix.

Ecorobotix is the product of Switzerland’s dynamic and innovative ecosystem. As a Deep Tech Nation, Switzerland has cultivated expertise across various fields, supported by strong public research and industries in precision mechanics, AI and computer vision, food, and more.
The company’s vision began when entrepreneur Aurélien G. Demaurex visited EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, to discuss ultra-high precision spraying with Dr. Steve Tanner, a researcher in the field.
